The Letter “C”
I never did like this letter. Once more, it’s a letter forever tied with to my academic career. I loved the letter “A”, I could still be satisfied by the letter “B”, but I was never happy with getting a C.
There’s also the term “gentleman’s C”, which was explained to me as a grade given to someone as a courtesy, even if they deserved to fail. A quick google search came up with this post from the FDR Foundation, which reveals that the term originally meant that a gentleman desired a C in academic pursuits so as not to appear too studious and dull.
What does the letter “C” mean to you?
Grades wise it means I could have done better, but apart from that the first word that came to my mind was corageous.
